Soumya Keshavan founded Souk in 2006 to address what she perceived as a gap in the market for singular accessories and artefacts. Immersed in art and design from an early age, Keshavan’s childhood was spent poring over art books and visiting galleries. Her painter mother and engineer father heavily influenced her, sparking her interest in art and interior design. Her initial career in travel provided her with the incredible opportunity to see and experience architecture and design from around the world. This invaluable exposure to various interior decor styles proved beneficial when she transitioned to interior design and started Souk.
